Ooh more pics! Glad to hear you made it home. Such a shame that you got ill, at least it was near the end of the trip. You'll just have to go back to see Calcutta! The summer house looks absolutely gorgeous.
Hope you're recovered now. Speak to you soon. Alicex

Hi guys,

The highest we were at was about 2600m (8500 ft). Jen found it quite hard to breathe for a while and couldn't walk for more than about 100m without a break!

We got a little bit ill so didn't get to see as much of the Himalayas as we wanted to (and none of Calcutta), but was still really cool. That's also why we didn't post for a while - plus the internet gets a bit slow up there!

We got back on Thursday - have just been sleeping (after a 51 hour journey!) and trying to sort out our thousands of photos.

Will be in touch properly soon.

Hey JaM, no update for a while :( Are the internet cafes a bit sparse in the east or are you in meditative bliss after hanging out with the Buddhists? Hope you're enjoying it still. When are you back? (not that I expect you to be thinking of it coming to an end!). Can't wait to hear more.
Alice xx
PS Those moon bears, so lazy!!

Hi Michael,
Good to hear from you. No idea about the Sadhus, but all the ones we've seen seem to wear orange. Hope you had a good trip, France wasn't it?

Hi Matt and Jen. Just checked in on your site as i've been away too.
WOW, it looks like you have seen so many different things, looks really good. Love some of the photos you have been taking. Do all the Sadus where orange? I was wondering as in one of my books their in red, I didn't know if there was any significance. Ok take care

We've seen loads of monkies lately. Opposite our hotel in Varanasi is an old observatory. They seem to like playing with all the old instruments.

I'm pleased with the photos too - it's so easy though, there is just stuff you want to photograph everywhere.

Chai is yummy, on the trains there's a man who comes by at least every half an hour and it tastes so much better than the stuff on british trains! I'm doing my best but I think there should be enough left for other people- depends how much I can fit in my suitcase. On some of the trains it comes in little clay pottery cups that you smash on the ground when you're done - ultimate eco-friendly disposable cup.

I've decided to keep hold of Jenny for the moment. I thought about charging to have photos with her but we've ended up just taking photos of them in return.
